About us
The company was formed by Rob Thorburn in 1997 to service the needs of clients wishing to undertake projects of a more complex and technical nature primarily within Government organisations having special project procurement procedures and involving compliance with changing environmental, heritage and OHS legislation. 

Rob Thorburn has had 30 years in design, construction and project management in the infrastructure and building industries. After gaining a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of NSW in 1975, he worked for a number of years in design and construction with various consulting engineering and government organisations. Prior to establishing Thorburn Associates Pty Ltd, Rob spent 7 years with the State Rail Authority on major projects and managed projects including the Sydney Terminal Commuter Tunnel, the upgrade of St James and Museum Stations, the design and construction of the Eastern Subway Parramatta Station and major track closedowns.
