A major rail infrastructure maintainer was seeking to establish a new period contract for provision of routine automated NDT inspection services for their rail assets.  Thorburn has been engaged to manage this process from preparation of the client requirements through to award of contract. 

Notable aspects of the project have been the requirement to achieve world best practice in this service, the participation of overseas providers and evaluation of tenders offering new technologies.
